Long live Christmas spirit

So, joy of joys, have again failed my driving test. Am doomed to an eternity of public transport. Wallowing in self pity you may think....... but alas no! Have decided to channel negative energy (ie. frustration, annoyance, anger) into creating myself a christmas spirit! That's correct ma petite cherie, have decorated my room and am sitting in a winter wonderland as we speak- a myriad of glitter, tinsel and singing santas! Currently downloading a delectable selection of Christmas tunes and admitting defeat to a general feeling of happiness- it's nice. Am absolutely not thinking about how I insulted my examiner earlier and effectively told her that she hadn't needed to use the dual controls as I merrily whistled 'All I want for Chrsitmas is you' and pulled into the path of an oncoming lorry. Well, only briefly recalling it. That hardly counts. The more I think about it, the less it seems to matter anyway. So I can't drive legally by myself- big deal. In the grand scale of things that is hardly worth batting an eyelid at surely? I have important exams coming up and fingers crossed some university will want me to visit them for an interview. My future is being decided in the next few months and the fact that I failed my driving test simply can't quite push itself onto the bottom of my 'Important Issues' list. Christmas can though! Its way up there. And despite having left all my shopping until the last minute I refuse to get stuck in my usual rut of 'Eugh- Christmas'. This year I'm 6years old again, other peoples presents don't matter, and neither do mine really. This year the season is no longer commercialised and nothing's a hassle. The Christmas tree is a wonder to be stared at for hours on end and sleepness nights will preceed the big day! I endeavor to find the beauty and Christmas spirit in everything I see and do. As long as Rudolph gets his carrot and Santa his mince pie, as long as carol singers knock on my door and lights shine in the streets, as long as Christmas music bellows from every shop and children can only smile and laugh with all the joys of christmas- then everything is right with the world. Long live Christmas spirit.
Ooooh, 'Last Christmas'- I must go and dance like a care-free pre-teen!
